What version of PersisTables do I need?

There are two versions of the PersisTables installer package, designed to work with 32 bit or 64 bit versions of Excel. This should not be confused with using 32 bit or 64 bit Windows versions (all versions of Windows beyond Windows 7 are 64 bit).

To check which version is required open Excel, click on the File->Account menu which will open the Account window (in Windows 2010 and beyond)

Click on the ? About Excel button which displays the EULA, in the top left you will see the installation type

How do I upgrade PersisTables from 32 bit Excel to 64 bit Excel?

In order to upgrade to 64 bit Excel it is necessary to uninstall the 32 bit version of PersisTables. This can be done by rerunning the original install package and choosing the Uninstall option or going to the ‘Programs and Features’ page of the Control Panel and uninstalling the 32 bit version of PersisTables.

To uninstall from the Control Panel->Programs and Features window, right click on the PersisTables tools and select Uninstall option.

The Excel Registration Tool should be removed prior to removing the PersisTables Toolkit for Excel.

Once removed and the 64-bit version of Excel has been installed, the 64-bit toolkit can be installed using the 64 bit install package.
